Team McChord Airman receives Purple Heart

U.S. Air Force tactical air control party element leader with the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron, after receiving a Purple Heart medal at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, March 26, 2024. The element leader was struck by an explosion initiated by an unmanned aircraft system on March 24, 2023, during the last week of a deployment in an austere location in Syria.
