A historian from RAF Spanhoe provides an in-depth brief, April 17, 2019, at RAF Spanhoe Airfield, on the history of the U.S. Army Air Force, 315th Troop Carrier Group, which flew from the site on airborne missions to Normandy from 1944-1944. Air Commandos from the 352 SOW, conducted a Staff Ride, in order to walk the grounds of bases where Army Air Force troops were stationed during WWII. Service members from the 352 SOW will conduct memorial airborne operations in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, June 4-7, 2019. An epic multinational operation, D-Day forged partnerships and reinforced trans-Atlantic bonds that remain to this day. (Photo by U.S. Army Staff Sgt Elizabeth Pena)
