Special Tactics Airman set to be posthumously awarded Medal of Honor
President Donald Trump will posthumously award the Medal of Honor to the family of fallen Special Tactics Operator, U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. John Chapman, at a ceremony on August 22 for his extraordinary heroism in March 2002 while deployed to Afghanistan. Special Tactics Operators are U.S. Special Operation Command’s tactical air and ground integration force, and the Air Force’s special operations ground force, leading Global Access, Precision Strike, Personnel Recovery and Battlefield Surgery operations.
