Calm in the chaos
A 342nd Battlefield Airman Training Squadron Combat Control School student scans the woods as rear security for his unit during a tactics field training exercise at Camp Mackall, N.C., Aug. 3, 2016. The 342nd BATS, or Combat Controller School, is the home of a 13-week course that provides initial CCT qualifications. The training includes, small unit tactics, land navigation, communications, assault zones, physical training demolitions, fire support and field operations including parachuting.
