Officer, a two-time Bronze Star medal recipient, was known to many as a man of great sacrifice and intent. As an Airman who controlled air space and precision strikes, he was selected to serve alongside one of the Army’s elite special operations units, the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Tech Sgt. Timothy A. Officer, Jr., was assigned to the 720th Operations Support Squadron, 720th Special Tactics Group, 24th Special Operations Wing, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida.Officer provided Chief, Joint Terminal Attack Controller program management, training, and oversight for eight Special Tactics squadrons encompassing over 900 combat controllers, pararescuemen, special operations weathermen, tactical air control party, and mission support personnel.

Officer entered the Air Force and graduated Basic Training in 2001. He graduated from the Tactical Air Control Party Specialist Course at Hurlburt Field, Fla. After becoming a TACP, Officer was assigned to Air Support Operations Squadrons supporting numerous Army combat units. Officer earned his JTAC rating in 2009 while assigned to the 11 ASOS at Fort Hood, Texas. Officer served in combat Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, earning two Bronze Stars, one with Valor for bravey against an armed enemy of the United States.
